Equipment hire is not included with any membership or casual entry fee.

Membership Costs

Membership prices below are effective from Wednesday 1 Feb 2012

Please note:

  • To qualify for the staff and student membership rate, you must be enrolled or employed at the University for the entire duration of your membership.
     

Payments

  • You can pay for a 12-month membership all at once, or you can set up fortnightly automatic payments (APs) at a higher rate.
  • All automatic payment plans have a one-off $60 administration fee.
  • For automatic payments, a manual payment instead of one lodged at the bank carries a $6 administration fee.

How to join

You can join online by clicking the green ' become a member online' button at the top right of this page.  You can also join at the facility as outlined below.

  • Fill out the membership application form.  You can get the application form from Reception on level 3.
  • Select the appropriate membership type from the application form
    To qualify for the discounted student and staff membership rates, you must be currently enrolled or employed by The University of Auckland. You must produce a current and valid student or staff ID card when joining.
  • Submit your application form in person to Reception on Level 3
    If you do not have a student or staff ID card (eg, if you are an alumni or community member), you need to bring a passport-sized photo for your membership card. If you have a student or staff ID card, you will use this as your membership card.

  • The introductory offer must be purchased at the time of purchasing your membership.

Bookings

As part of your membership, you can book the following facilities:

  • Squash courts
  • Basketball courts (or individual hoops)
  • Soccer
  • Volleyball
  • Badminton
  • Dance studio

The system works on a six-day-ahead booking allocation; each activity is allocated a percentage time per booking.

You can book the facilities using your membership card at the booking terminals adjacent to the Reception desk.

Bookings will be forfeited on late arrival of 10 minutes or more.

Please note that during semesters, a number of activities occur in these bookable spaces. These activities limit the ability to make bookings between 12-2pm and after 5pm, Monday to Friday.

We sell a wide variety of products at Reception on level 3, including:

  • Sports nutrition supplements by Musashi, NFS and Balance.
  • Chilled drinks from Powerade and Pump.
  • Nutrition bars from Balance, Horleys and One Square Meal.
  • Squash balls and  shuttle cocks.
  • Training equipment and ergongenic aids.

We also have available to hire: 

  • Towels
  • Padlocks
  • Squash and badminton racquets
  • Boxing gloves
  • Climbing shoes
